Bitcoin trading bot license vs exchange bots and copy trading
Copy trading, exchange-native bots and independent trading software can all automate trading, but they work very differently.
The key distinction is who makes the trading decisions and what software is executing them.
- Copy trading: another trader makes the decisions and your account attempts to mirror them.
- Exchange-native bot: the exchange provides the automation and determines which strategies and settings are available.
- Yearly software license: independent software connects to your own supported exchange account and executes according to its predefined rules.
TurboStrategy uses the third model. It is a yearly software license for customer-controlled Bitcoin spot execution with no leverage. It is not copy trading and it is not a built-in bot from Bybit, MEXC or Hyperliquid.
What is copy trading?
Copy trading connects your account to another trader or strategy provider and attempts to replicate that trader's activity.
Instead of choosing independent software with its own execution logic, you choose who to follow.
Depending on the platform, that can involve:
- Selecting a trader from a marketplace
- Automatically mirroring entries and exits
- Scaling positions to your allocated capital
- Paying platform fees, profit-sharing or other charges
The trading decisions ultimately come from the trader being copied.
TurboStrategy does not use this structure. There is no trader to follow and no copy-trading marketplace.
What is an exchange-native trading bot?
An exchange-native bot is automation built directly into a cryptocurrency exchange.
This can include grid bots, recurring-buy tools and other automated order systems available inside the exchange interface. The exchange provides both the trading account infrastructure and the automation.
The advantage is convenience. The trade-off is that you are limited to the bot types, rules and configuration options the exchange chooses to offer.
The exchange continues to hold the customer's Bitcoin.

What is a yearly Bitcoin trading bot license?
A yearly software license separates the trading software from the exchange.
You pay for access to independent software, connect a supported exchange account and use that software to automate execution.
TurboStrategy follows this model. Customers purchase a yearly license while their Bitcoin remains at the supported exchange. TurboStrategy provides the software for automated Bitcoin spot execution.
The license is priced as software access. It is not a yield, return or performance fee.

How TurboStrategy connects to supported exchanges
TurboStrategy does not take custody of customer Bitcoin. The supported exchange continues to hold the assets.
The connection method depends on the exchange:
- Bybit and MEXC: customers create a dedicated API connection with trading permission only. Withdrawal permission is not enabled.
- Hyperliquid: customers connect using a revocable agent wallet.
These connections allow the software to execute trades without giving TurboStrategy withdrawal access.
More detail is available on the security page.
Who writes the trading rules?
This is where the models differ most.
With copy trading, the trader you follow decides when to buy or sell.
With an exchange-native bot, the exchange designs the underlying bot and gives you a set of parameters to configure.
With TurboStrategy, the execution rules are part of the software. Customers are licensing predefined trading automation rather than following another person's live trading decisions.
That distinction matters because a "trading bot" can describe very different products. The important question is not whether something is automated, but whose rules the automation is following.
How the pricing models differ
The way you pay usually reflects the underlying structure.
Copy trading may charge platform fees, trader profit-sharing or other costs linked to the copy-trading service.
Exchange-native bots are part of the exchange ecosystem. Pricing and trading fees depend on the exchange and the specific tool.
TurboStrategy charges a yearly software license. Customers are paying for access to the software, dashboard, updates and supported execution infrastructure rather than sharing trading profits with another trader.
Which model makes sense?
Choose based on what you actually want to automate.
Copy trading makes sense if you specifically want to follow another trader and accept that their decisions determine the trades placed in your account.
An exchange-native bot can suit users who want automation directly inside their exchange and are comfortable using the strategies and settings provided there.
Independent licensed software is the more relevant model if you want dedicated trading software while keeping your Bitcoin at your own supported exchange account.
TurboStrategy is built for the latter: customer-controlled Bitcoin spot automation through a yearly software license, without leverage or copy trading.

Trading Bitcoin involves risk, and automated execution does not remove the possibility of loss.
